Valentine Elementary School Counseling Program

Our school counseling program is designed to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student. The counselor plays a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive school environment where students can thrive.

Counselor Duties:

  • Promote the social and emotional well-being of all students

  • Provide direct instruction of social-emotional learning (SEL) through Second Step and MindYeti programs

  • Offer short-term individual and group counseling to students with behavioral, social, or emotional needs

  • Serve as the PBIS Site Coach, supporting positive behavior across the school

  • Provide crisis intervention and conduct safety assessments when needed

  • Coordinate the CARE team, the Student Success Team (SST), and Section 504 plans

  • Work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, staff, parents, and families to ensure student success

  • Connect families with valuable community resources, such as the Titan Wellness Center

At Valentine Elementary, we are committed to fostering a positive and supportive environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our counseling program provides both direct support to students and collaboration with families, staff, and community partners to ensure each student has the tools and resources needed for success in school and beyond.
