I am looking forward to another wonderful year at Valentine Elementary! I adore teaching, and I feel that I've found my niche with early education. My goal is to create a teaching environment where children feel confident, engaged, and successful about themselves as students.

I grew up in Palos Verdes Estates and attended college at Loyola Marymount University, where I majored in history. After college I studied at Cal State Dominguez Hills to receive my teaching credential. I was hired as a 1st grade teacher at Meadows Elementary in Manhattan Beach in 2007. I started teaching kindergarten at Valentine Elementary in 2012.

My classroom's curriculum is Common Core aligned and will include lessons in math, literature, writing, reading, phonics, science, and social studies. The students will also attend lessons in the music room, library, computer lab, science lab, and art room.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. I like gardening, cooking, hiking, reading, and dreaming up new and inventive lessons for my first graders.
