Online & App Login Instructions

Hello Parents,

Attached is your child’s CLEVER QR badge. You can use it at home to access the many educational subscriptions that are purchased by our school district. Below is a list of programs that we will use in 1st grade this year. If you find these programs to be helpful, you may have your child use these programs at home for additional practice.

TO ACCESS CLEVER:

This online single sign-on portal allows your child to access many of our educational resources. 

  1. From the Valentine Website, click on the "Students" tab. Then, click on "Clever". This will take you to the SMUSD's Clever login page.
  2. Login with your child's CLEVER QR badge 
  3. You can also log in using your child's SMUSD district username and password. You received this information in an email with the subject: "SMUSD: (Your Child's Name)'s Google Account Information; View Schedule"
  4. From your Clever Portal, click on the application icon you’d like to use!

 

TO ACCESS RAZ-KIDS:

This supplemental online reading program utilizes leveled e-books to model fluency, build vocabulary, practice independent reading, practice comprehension, and provide teachers with standards-aligned progress reports.

  1. Go to https://www.kidsa-z.com/main/Login or download the FREE app.
  2. Enter or choose the teacher's username: cchoi21
  3. Your child finds his or her name on the class chart.
  4. Your child enters his or her password (fish icon)

 

TO ACCESS DREAMBOX:

DreamBox is a supplemental, online math program that teaches and adapts to provide all learners an individualized learning experience, advancing students at their own pace and ability.

  1. Go to Clever and click on Dreambox under the Students tab or download the FREE app. (If you use the app, you will need to enter the school code: wf3q/valentinee .)
  2. Enter the classroom code: 81995
  3. Your child finds his or her name on the class chart.
  4. Your child enters his or her password.

 

TO ACCESS EPIC!:

 

Epic! is a leading online children's subscription book service offering immediate, on-demand access to over 25,000 high-quality illustrated books and chapter books (geared towards middle school and younger). Epic!'s ever-expanding library also includes thousands of Read-to-Me books, audiobooks, educational videos, and fun educational quizzes. 

 

  1. Go to www.getepic.com/students or download the FREE Epic app (iOS or Android).
  2. Enter my class code: kri0345
  3. Click on your child's profile.  

 

Our subscription to Epic! only allows students access from 6AM - 4PM, Monday through Friday (school hours).

 

TO ACCESS TYPING CLUB

Typing Club is an online program that teaches students how to type on a QWERTY keyboard. Students learn where each letter is located on the keyboard and which finger they should use to type each letter.

  1. Go to Clever and click on Typing Club.

 

 

TO ACCESS i-Ready

 

i-Ready is an online reading and mathematics program that provides personalized lessons based on individual skill level or need, so that your child can learn at a pace that is right for them.

 

  1. Go to the Valentine website and access Clever through the Student Tab
  2. Login with your child's CLEVER QR badge or student username and password
  3. Click on the i-Ready icon
  4. Select “Reading” or “Math” to begin a lesson

 

NOTE: Three times a year i-READY will give diagnostics. The diagnostics may not be taken at home.

 

To ACCESS TUTOR.com

Tutor.com is a free tutoring service available to all students of the San Marino School District. 

 

  1.  Go to the Valentine website and access Clever through the Student Tab
  2.  Login with your child's CLEVER QR badge or student username and password
  3. Click on the Tutor.com icon
  4. Schedule a tutoring session for a specific time and date OR connect with a tutor immediately for on-demand help.
  5. Tutoring is conducted through a chatbox, or, you can enable the audio feature to have a live conversation with a tutor.
