Tuesday, October 25th - Sock-It-to-Soda (& Juice) & Banner Signing Day

Students are encouraged to Sock-It-to-Soda today by replacing that soda or sugary juice in their lunchbox with water!  The San Marino Police Department will be at the Valentine Playground during lunch recess to encourage students to sign the Be Healthy Banner.  Every student who signs the banner and plays a nutrition game wins a prize, and is also entered into our raffle to win one of several Be Healthy grand prizes, including a Fitbit Zip and top quality soccer balls!

Wednesday, October 26th -Bring a Fruit or Veggie for Lunch Day

Students are encouraged to bring a fruit or vegetable to school today as part of their lunch to show they are taking responsibility to Be Healthy.

Thursday, October 27th - Sports Jersey and Cereal Game Day

Wear your favorite sports t-shirt or team jersey today to support a healthy lifestyle which includes regular exercise.  It's not too late for students to sign the Be Healthy Banner.  Come to the Banner Signing Table at lunch recess and play our Breakfast of Champions. Every player wins a prize and also has a chance to win a Fitbit Zip or top quality soccer ball!  Six winners (one from each grade) will be drawn at the end of lunch recess and announced the following week in the Valentine Voice.  Prizes will be delivered to the winners' classrooms the week of October 31st.

A huge thank you to Menchie's South Pasadena and Yogurtland Arcadia for their extremely generous donations of frozen yogurt coupons for every student!

Please encourage your child to participate in Red Ribbon Week!

Good habits in childhood provide the foundation for a healthy lifestyle.
