1st Grade - Room 10 - Homework

Course Description

Parents are the keys to making homework a positive experience for their children. I ask that parents take a genuine interest in their children's learning experiences and make homework a top priority at home. You can demonstrate your support by setting aside a time every day when homework should be done, providing necessary supplies, and a quiet homework environment (away from TV, music, etc.). Ask to see the homework assignment sheet and ask questions about what is being learned in class. Homework will be assigned every Monday through Thursday. It is the student’s responsibility to bring their homework folder to and from school.

Valentine’s procedure for items such as lunch bags, homework, etc. that your student has forgotten at home or in the car: When you arrive at school with the forgotten item, you will find a table outside the office where you may leave these items. Please clearly label each item with your child's first and last name and the name of his or her teacher. Instruct your child that any item forgotten at home may be retrieved from this table at morning recess time (10:30 A.M.) or just before lunch times; if your child does not find the expected item at that time, please tell your child to go to the health office to call you.
