To apply for the funding, a team must meet one of the Qualcomm defined funding priorities. As the top-performing team, the SF Hackers is thrilled to become one of the 2021 FIRST LEGO League Qualcomm Grant recipients! The team receives $500 to support their FLL activities.
The team members are all fifth graders, three from Valentine Elementary School and one from High Point Academy. They include Michael Mo, William Pan, and Terry Zhang, and Justin Yu. Coached by Simon Mo, they won both Robot Design and Robot Performance awards on December 12 Championship Tournament. The team scored the highest 515 points and is the only team that broke the 500 marks in the LA region.
The SF Hackers were also invited to the well-known KAZN 1300 Radio Station to share their FLL experience on December 10, 2020. The radio show was broadcasted on December 16, 2020, from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
