Welcome to Room 8. My name is Colleen Levy and I have been teaching children with special needs for 19 years. Prior to that, I was a stay-at-home-mom with two beautiful daughters. I started teaching after they were grown, and I had less at-home responsibilities.

I have four teaching credentials: a multiple subject K-6 credential, mild-moderate special needs credential, a moderate-severe special needs credential, and a preliminary administrative credential. I also have National Board Certification in Special Education and an M. Ed in Education.

My job is to support the general education teachers with students who have been identified with special needs. Children come to my room for different amounts of time depending upon their IEPs. Therefore, I work closely with the students' general education teacher to meet their individual needs to the best of my ability. If you have any specific questions about your individual student, please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected].
